Cleaning between the glass on Advanced Doors
To disassemble these advanced door mechanisms requires special tools and more care!
Made famous on the Bake Off cooking series on TV, the Neff Slide & Hide door system provides a convenient way to access deeper inside the oven without overreaching.
The unique design requires a fresh approach to cleaning between the glass.
Patience and care is required to remove the door from the delicate mechanism. Some oven cleaning people are under pressure to clean your oven quickly, as they are keen to get to the next job, some oven cleaners can clean 5-7 ovens per day, so they can be somewhat ‘Gung-ho’ and risk damaging the door mechanism.
The internal bracing and internal glass segments are held in place with various pressed aluminium plates, which are easily bent.

SMEG Ovens
While SMEG ovens are certainly one of the best-built ovens available, the cleaning process is somewhat different. For example, the graphics around the knobs are extremely delicate and will come off with traditional degreasing chemicals.
Many SMEG ovens have pretty designed ridges and textured contours; the only way to remove the blackened carbon from these areas is with more specialist, aggressive chemicals. Trying to clean with my traditional methods and cleaning products may result in damage to the enamel surface.
We don’t remove the door seals because the rubber moulding is particularly thin and may snap, so I will carefully clean the seal while fitted.
With all this in mind, I use expensive specialist cleaning products, with an extra £25 surcharge.

INITIAL ASSESSMENT
Before starting work, I will always assess the condition of your oven.
On the very rare occasion, I may refuse to clean your oven; this would be based on certain circumstances. For example, if there is no power or gas supply, I cannot get the oven hot to clean it thoroughly.
The oven MUST be in good working order without damage or missing parts. These would include top heating elements that are bent down, thermostats that are not mounted and are loose, missing glass from doors, and gas hob ignition sparks not working. Noises caused by the fan catching or rattling due to bearing wear and tear.
By far the worst example was a Neff Slide n Hide oven which the owner has tried to clean themselves using a home cleaning kit. The door was not removed properly, resulting in the hinge mechanism being damaged, and the inside door glass was shattered as the sprung door brackets caught the edge of the inner glass during removal; finally, the inside of the oven literally looked like someone had thrown a bucket of white paint inside!
I will always explain my reason and offer the best advice I can.
HIGH WINDS!
During high winds 20mph + it is unsafe to use the propane gas heater due to the flames being blown towards the air intake and possibly igniting the main gas tank! Also, the diptank could be blown oven because of being top heavy.
I will do my best to let you know ASAP with an alternative cleaning date.
